During warm months Gulf Coast Exterminators can be found performing a Honey Bee or Wasp Removal almost daily in the Houston area. Honey Bee removals are not much fun as they can be very hot and potentially dangerous jobs. From bee sting exposure to climbing hazards there are several ways someone can be seriously hurt on one of these jobs. When performing these jobs we take every precaution to safeguard our employees as well as you and your family. We are humane in our treatment of the bees and we are careful to protect your property in the course of getting the job completed. A typical honey bee removal will consist of: 1) Job assessment with the client 2) Securing the jobsite 3) Euthanizing the bees (we use smoke to calm them and then apply chemical) 4) Cutting into the structure 5) Removal of the comb and honey 6) Jobsite clean up 7) Job review with client and recommendations
Some frequently asked questions:
How long will the job take? On average, a job will take 1-3 hours. An on-site estimate will be required to give a better answer.
How much will it cost? Gulf Coast Exterminators may charge as little as $75 for a call out on Honey Bees but a Honey Bee Removal could be in excess of $1000 depending on the size of your problem. Asking us to give you a price over the computer or over the phone is like calling an auto repair shop and saying “my car is vibrating! How much will the repair be?” We really have no idea until we get to your property and assess the situation.
Do you perform repairs at the end of the job? In short, no but we can provide a list of contractors we know that perform small repair jobs like these.
Can’t you just kill the bees without cutting into the structure? We could but then you would have thousands of dead bees, dead bee larvae and unattended honey that will start to decay/sour in the walls of your home. This will present a bad odor and eventually a pest control nightmare with the flies, ants and roaches that will try to take advantage of a large undefended food source.
